Election Commission Meeting Notice

The Municipal Election Commission will hold a meeting on Friday, August 16, 2019 at 9:00 A.M. to discuss the upcoming General Election to be held November 5, 2019. The meeting will be held at City Hall, 242 Hampton Street, Walterboro, SC.  

 

Public Hearing Notice

Walterboro City Council will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at 6:15 P.M. in City Hall Council Chambers to receive public comments on the following proposed ordinances: Ordinance # 2019-08, An Ordinance of the City of Walterboro, South Carolina, Amending the Comprehensive Fee Schedule for the Police Department. Ordinance # 2019-09, An Ordinance to Amend Ordinance # 2019-03, So As to Set the Local Option Sales Tax Credit Factor in the Fiscal Year 2019-2020 Budget.

Municipal Election Commission Meeting Notice
The Municipal Election Commission will hold its first planning meeting on Friday, July 26, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. to discuss the upcoming General Election to be held November 5, 2019. The meeting will be held at City Hall, 242 Hampton Street, 2nd Floor Council Chambers, Walterboro, SC.  

Temporary Water Outages

Scheduled, temporary water outages can be expected in the area surrounding the Hwy 15/Academy Road intersection beginning Monday July 15 and ending Wednesday July 17.  Silver Hills Subdivision, Carolina Circle, Academy Acres and adjacent roads may be affected.  This outage will allow the City's contractor to connect newly installed distribution lines to the existing water main.  This project is necessary in order to accommodate the Department of Transportation's upcoming Hwy 15/Academy Road intersection improvements.

City Hall offices will be closed Thursday, July 4, 2019 in observance of Independence Day. For assistance or to make deliveries, please contact the Police Dispatcher at 843-782-1030. City staff wish you a safe and happy holiday.

Walterboro City Council will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at 6:15 P.M. in City Hall Council Chambers to receive public comments on the following proposed ordinance:  

Ordinance # 2019-07, An Ordinance of the City of Walterboro, South Carolina, Requiring Annexation Commitments in Order for Properties Located Outside of the City to Connect to the City’s Utilities Services or Upgrade Existing Service; Adding Provisions to the Code of Ordinances of the City Providing for the Same; and Other Matters Related Thereto.

UPDATED PUBLIC NOTICE

The City Council Work Session that was schelduled for Thursday, May 23, 2019, has been CANCELED and will be rescheduled for a later date.  

The Special Called City Council Meeting for Thursday, May 23, 2019, will still be held as scheduled at 5:00 PM at City Hall, 242 Hampton Street for the purpose of consideration of a resolution to execute forms pursuant to a USDA Rural Development Community Facilities Grant.

PUBLIC NOTICE

The Walterboro City Council will hold a Special Called Meeting on Thursday, May 23, 2019, at 5:00 PM at City Hall, 242 Hampton Street for the purpose of consideration of a resolution to execute forms pursuant to a USDA Rural Development Community Facilities Grant.  Immediately following the Special Called Meeting, City Council will have a Work Session for a presentation/discussion on the results of the Utility Rate Study.
