City Wide Garnet & Gold Week

January 15 – January 19

January 15 through January 19 will be Garnet and Gold Week at USC Salkehatchie and in its communities. Show your Salkehatchie Spirit by wearing garnet and gold. Our prize crew will award prizes to those spotted. Merchants are encouraged to create displays. Prizes will be awareded to the best displays.

The February 6, 2018 regular City Council Meeting has been rescheduled to Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 6:15 P.M. at City Hall, 242 Hampton Street, Walterboro.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade

January 14

The lineup for the parade will begin on S. Jefferies Blvd. near the Live Oak Cemetery , at 1:30 P.M. The parade starts at 2:00 P.M. If you have any questions, please call Herman Bright at 843-217-5000.

Holiday Schedule

City Hall offices will be closed Monday, January 15, 2018, in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Residential and Commercial garbage will not be picked up.  For assistance, please contact the Police Department (843-782-1030).  City staff wishes you a safe and happy holiday. 

 

Paws at the Plantation - Friends of Colleton County Animal Shelter

March 3

Paws at the Plantation is a fundraiser for the animals of Colleton County.

Held at the privately owned Pineland Plantation in Green Pond, SC, this event will have live entertainment by Going to the Dogs Band, catering by Jimmy Fitt, beer and wine.  An amazing silent auction and great raffle packages will be available.

Early bird tickets are $40 until February 23.  Afterwards, tickets are $50, and no tickets will be available at the door.  

Amazing History Race - Colleton County Historical and Preservation Society

April 21

The Colleton County Historical and Preservation Society is highlighting the some of the history of Colleton County with an Amazing History Race (similar to the Amazing Race on TV). This is a family-friendly, kid-friendly event. The race can be run by pairs and also by family. Prizes will be awarded.

Cring & Clazzy Performance

January 7

Stirring together the ingredients of music, humor, stories and singing, the duo known across the country as Cring & Clazzy will be performing Come and See at the Bethel United Methodist Church, 355 Hampton Street in Walterboro on Sunday January 7th 2018 at 8:45AM and 11:00AM

Mr. Cring, a composer, singer/songwriter, international blogger and screenwriter, has created a worship service, calling the church to revive the better parts of the faith, celebrating the stories, the Sermon on the Mount and the sacrifice of Jesus.

CCAC 2018 Resolution Run

January 6

5K Run/Walk and 1 Mile Fun Run. Registration begins at 8:00am and 5K race Start Time: 8:30am. 1 Mile Fun Run Start Time: 9:30am. Entry Fee: $20 per person. Pre-registration includes t-shirt before January 6, 2018. Race Day Entry Fee: $25.00 (t-shirts while supplies last) Children ages 12 and under run free with a registered parent.
