Each year SC DHEC asks for participation in helping to prevent the spread of rabies by offering vaccination clinics throughout the state. Colleton County has been invited to join the 2018 effort to combat this deadly disease.
Fees vary by clinic location. Rabies vaccinations won't exceed $10 per pet. Dogs must be on a leash. Cats must be in a carrier.
As in the past, the target month for holding these clinics is the month of April; however, some clinics may be offered as early as March and some may be offered through May. Colleton County Clinics are listed below.

Part of our duty as The Walterboro Police Department is to notify our citizens of crime trends that are going on within the city. Over the past few months we have received an influx of scams on citizens both by individuals and mail sweepstakes. We have hosted several fraud awareness classes that have been open to the public to raise awareness for these types of scams.
Hydrant Testing Members of the Walterboro Fire Department have implemented a hydrant maintenance and flushing program. Flushing will be conducted throughout the month of FEBRUARY.
The Walterboro Wildlife Sanctuary has been chosen as Colleton County's top pick for a place to take a family outing by the readers of The Press and Standard. The City is pleased to recieve this distinction and will continue to maintain its park system for its citizens to enjoy.

Walterboro City Council will conduct its 2018 City Council Planning Retreat beginning Friday, January 19, 2018 and running through Saturday, January 20, 2018 to be held at: Wampee Conference Center, 1190 Chicora Drive, Pinopolis, SC 29469. No formal action will be taken on any item at this retreat. Any action items will be brought back to a regular Council meeting for Council’s consideration.
The February 6, 2018 regular City Council Meeting has been rescheduled to Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 6:15 P.M. at City Hall, 242 Hampton Street, Walterboro.
