Walterboro Wildlife Center/ Main Street Attendant
The City of Walterboro has (1) opening for a Full-time Walterboro Wildlife Center/ Main Street Attendant in the Parks Department.
- The successful candidate will be under limited supervision and will be responsible for the landscaping of the Walterboro Wildlife Center including but not limited to mowing, edging, weed eating, trimming ornamentals, plantings, irrigation maintenance, and application of chemical pesticides and fertilizers.
- Light janitorial work as needed.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of seasonal plantings on Main Street and the City Hall Complex.
- Experience or willingness to work with animals including amphibians, reptiles, and fish.
- Ability to clean animal enclosures, perform feeding schedules, maintenance of pumps and aerators, and conduct programming to a wide range of audiences.
- May be required to assist the Parks Department with event preparation or another task as needed.
- Applicant must have a High School Diploma or equivalent with a valid SC Driver’s License.
- Candidate must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
- Salary Range dependent upon qualifications.
- The projected workweek is 40 hours/week.
