IRELAND CREEK SEDIMENT REMOVAL PROJECT 

The City of Walterboro is soliciting bids to remove up to 500 cubic yards of sediment in Ireland Creek between Dowling Avenue and Forest Hills Drive – see Maintenance Exhibit (Walterboro - Ireland Creek) for exact parameters. 

  • All material to be removed in a single-handed fashion, i.e., with an excavator, backhoe, or dragline. No movement of material in the water body will occur with a bulldozer. 
  • All vegetation and excess spoil material will be disposed of in Walterboro/Colleton County at an appropriate permitted off-site upland area or landfill with no run back into waters of the United States. Sand and dirt material will be hauled to the City Shop located at 2106 Robertson Blvd., Walterboro, SC 29488.  Any plant or wood materials will be disposed of at the Colleton County landfill, located at 3288 Green Pond Highway, Walterboro, SC 29488. 
  • There will be no double handling of excavated materials in the waters of the United States.
